Welcome back new and old students. Some of you may already know but as a reminder to you and a notification to the new students here on our Weebly (http://byuihorticulture.weebly.com/) you can stay up to date on the happenings here in the horticulture department. Not only that but you can find out when, where, and who is coming to seminar. There is also an array of pictures from past events that may be rifles through at your will. A new way to stay in touch is our new Facebook pages. We have one for the department(BYU-Idaho Department of Horticulture) and also one for the plant shop(BYU-Idaho Horticulture Plant Shop) so that you can hear new sales, new items, and also what we’ll be taking to the Rexburg and the Idaho Falls farmers market that weekend.
Our aim for the Department of Horticulture at Brigham Young University-Idaho is to nurture understanding of both the art and science of Horticulture. Students learn experimentally in the classroom, laboratory, greenhouse, and ten acre Thomas E. Ricks demonstration garden as they pursue an Associates or Bachelors Degree. Using the medium of plants, students develop habits of hard work, enlightened minds, and healthy living that assist in gainful employment opportunitues.
