This week the Scroll is having a photo contest. They have printed 20 pictures that show areas of the campus you might not see every day. The contest is to identify each of the areas and then turn in the completed puzzle to the I –Comm department. The exciting thing is that two of the pictures should not be new to Horticulture students! Grab and Scroll and fill in the blanks and you may be the prize winner!
The Horticulture Department was featured in the Scroll again this week. We are really excited about all this publicity, especially before the orchard is even in bloom. Hopefully this article will get students, faculty and the community excited and waiting for the apples to be ripe for the picking. Pick up a Scroll at the nearest magazine rack or read the article below. Student Michael Reed and professor Daniel Dewey were quoted.
This week's Scroll featured one of our Horticulture students, Andrea Hansen. She is a junior and also volunteers with "Get Connected" as an I-Team leader. Read her article here or pick up a Scroll at the nearest rack. It is on page six. Notice her beautiful shirt...thanks for representing, Andrea!
Our aim for the Department of Horticulture at Brigham Young University-Idaho is to nurture understanding of both the art and science of Horticulture. Students learn experimentally in the classroom, laboratory, greenhouse, and ten acre Thomas E. Ricks demonstration garden as they pursue an Associates or Bachelors Degree. Using the medium of plants, students develop habits of hard work, enlightened minds, and healthy living that assist in gainful employment opportunitues.
