PLANET Student Career Days 2010
"Student Career Days is an annual three-day competitive event among students enrolled in horticulture programs from colleges and universities across the country. The students have the chance to compete in events that are directly related to the skills necessary for a career in the green industry. The event also offers a Career Fair which gives the students the opportunity to meet prospective employers in the industry and discuss employment opportunities."

A group of students headed out to Chattahoochee Technical College for the competition on Wednesday, April 7. They got back to Rexburg Sunday, April 11th. They competed in many different events, some were test events and some were hands-on demonstration events. We came in at third place overall as a school.
We came in on top on a few events.
Micah Wood and Greg Galbraith took first place in the Paver Installation Event. Another team had the same score, but Micah and Greg completed it faster! Great job!
Micah Wood and Andrea Hansen took first in the Wood Construction Event. For this event, they had to build those benches that you may have noticed in the hallways upstairs in the Benson building. Those are their practice benches. Great job you two!
Andrea Hansen earned second place at the Maintenance Cost Estimating Event! Good job!

The PLANET Team didn't just compete the whole trip. They visited some great places such as Coca-Cola World, Calloway Gardens, Mary Macs, the William's residence, and Smith and Gilbert's Gardens. They enjoyed every minute of the trip.
