Byron John
Brother Byron John has been working at BYU-Idaho (Ricks College) for 21 years. His teaching emphasis is Design/Build. John received a Bachelors of Science in Plant Science from Utah State University and also did continued studies in Landscape Architecture from U of U as well. He attended Idaho State University for his graduate work and received an MS in Corporate Training there. Before coming to teach, he was a Design/Build contractor in Park City, UT with his own company called BJ Designs.
Currently he belongs to the Idaho Water Garden Society, the Horticulture Association of America, and is a member of the American Professional Landscape Designers. A few awards he has received include, a Distinguished Teaching award and an Innovative Teacher award from BYU-Idaho as well as three Idaho Nursery and Landscape Gold Awards for Design/Build.
He is originally from Kaysville, Utah. John's hobbies and interests include triathlons, cross-country skiing, gardening and bicycling. His family consists of him and his wife, Karen and their four children, Aaron, Brandon, Cameron, and Dylan.
